Small server update.

Most of this update is changes to behind the scenes things.  One very important update reduces the network traffic used by about 20%.  Another change reduces server RAM usage by 20%.

And those changes mean that… realms now load twice as fast :)

There is a new Server Status indicator. It shows on the website and in the game in the top left corner.  The coolest thing about it, is that when the servers are restarting, it’ll tell you a how much has loaded percentage… so you’ll have a much better idea of how long server restarts will take.

Risky realms now have a chance for a 3rd mine :)  just to keep you on your toes.  Risky Tunnel realms also now have LOTS more variety in size and terrain.

New Oceans will also have more variety, and slightly more land than previous oceans.

Units that go through any tunnel or gate and land on a road now follow the road.

  • Sorry, bit of a fail tonight. The machine here at my house that usually updates all the servers needs to do an OS update… and its a whopping 4GB (for OSX 10.8.2).

    My new internet connection is a wee bit slow, so I need to let it download over night.

    Will hopefully get this update live first thing in the morning.
